LSTK constructions - what is it?

LSTK - light steel thin-walled structures or frame structures, created from the thinnest steel elements (thickness does not exceed 3 mm). This type of metal structures is used for the construction of pre-fabricated buildings.
LSTK technology came to Ukraine not so long ago, but it has been known in the world for several decades. Back in the 50s of the 20th century, a plan was developed in Canada, allowing a large number of low-rise buildings to be built in the shortest possible time. The experiment was successful and the rapid construction technique began to rapidly conquer the world. Very soon LSTK became very popular. And it is quite justified, because the technology can be applied in a wide range of areas.

Where is it relevant to use the LSTK technology

Lightweight steel thin-walled structures are indeed used in many ways. Among the operating options popular among customers are:

  • creation of fences on multi-storey buildings;
  • creation of floors (interfloor, interroom, wall);
  • construction of attics;
  • construction of low-rise residential buildings (permissible height - up to 3 floors);
  • erection of buildings for commercial and industrial purposes;
  • construction of public buildings.

And if at the beginning of its successful journey to conquer Ukrainian consumers, the technology was more focused on the construction of temporary buildings (temporary huts, change houses), today thin-walled steel structures are actively used for the construction of residential buildings, summer cottages, office centers, shops, dispensaries, car washes, children's gardens, schools, parking lots. This technology attracts consumers with a number of advantages, which are worth dwelling on.

Why choose LSTK

The technology for the construction of LSTK is constantly developing and improving, due to which new advantages are added to the existing and noted by consumers. Some of the benefits of light steel structures most commonly cited by users are:

  1. geometric accuracy of the shapes of buildings;
  2. lightness, low weight, ensuring no shrinkage;
  3. all-season, the possibility of year-round use;
  4. affordable cost.

The lack of even walls and ceilings is one of the most common shortcomings in houses built in recent years. Homeowners have to put in a lot of effort in order to carry out finishing work in such premises. In addition, after some time after the house is commissioned, it begins to sit down and sag, which causes cracks and distortion of structures. Familiar situation? Erection of steel frame structures avoids such problems. LSTK are perfectly flat surfaces in all planes. They do not need additional alignment - you save budget and hassle.
It is worth noting the lightness of the structure - such houses have a minimal effect on the foundation, do not sag, do not deform. This feature allows the use of lightweight foundations, which also has a positive effect on the budget.
LSTK - buildings made of steel - a material that is resistant to corrosion and the effects of the entire spectrum of atmospheric phenomena. Such buildings can be erected at any time of the year, without being afraid to carry out work in conditions of high humidity or cold. You can also use such buildings all year round - when using heaters, steel houses turn into cozy warm buildings for a comfortable life or work.

Does the LSTK technology have disadvantages

Like any other construction technology, the method of erecting thin-walled metal structures has disadvantages. But subject to the norms and standards for the construction of such buildings, they can be easily leveled. So, the small thickness of the walls, which could be the reason for the insufficient strength of the structure, is eliminated by reliable connection of the elements. The finished frame is able to withstand high mechanical loads without deformation and damage to integrity.
Many skeptics argue that the service life of the LSTC is quite short and fully corresponds to the low cost of buildings. Is it so? Judge for yourself: buildings made of thin steel elements last 50–120 years on average. And with proper care and regular maintenance, these numbers increase significantly.

There are also many rumors about the poor quality of the products. Unfortunately, on the Ukrainian market today there is a large number of counterfeit products, which became the reason for the emergence of such opinions. Choose profiles from professionals with experience in the production and installation of metal structures and the corresponding reputation. Frame Factory has been operating in the Ukrainian construction market for many years and creates LSTK that deserve the highest praise. To obtain guarantees of quality and durability of structures, order the production and installation of houses on a turnkey basis - in this case, all stages of work will be carried out by specialists who know exactly what a building should be made of steel profiles.
